Post Game: Cubs v Brewers – Spring Training Game 1
It’s in the books, folks. The first game of spring training wasn’t very exciting but, like I said this morning, it was real, live baseball, and for that I’m very thankful! I snapped a few shots from the game that I thought I’d share with everyone. I’ll post pictures and at least one or two game notes for every game. Or at least that’s the plan for now.
Main observation: Yes, Javier Baez was playing center field but he didn’t look very comfortable out there. I saw one fly ball hit to him. It was a standard fly ball which he misread, completely misplayed and then dropped. It seemed like there was maybe some confusion between him and right fielder, Jorge Soler, which may have contributed to the error, so I won’t read into it too much. Just looked like a ball that should have easily been caught. Let’s not forget this is the first game of spring training, so hopefully he gets some more playing time in center to get some additional reps under his belt.
Look for something fun from Cubs Kingdom coming tomorrow. Will be worth waiting for!
