Taylor McGregor Leaving Marquee for Full-Time ESPN Role

As first reported by Meghan Montemurro and Robert Channick of the Tribune, Marquee’s Taylor McGregor is leaving for a full-time role at ESPN. She has worked as a college football sideline reporter for ESPN since 2019, a year before Marquee launched, so this isn’t necessarily a surprise. McGregor’s new role is expected to branch into the NBA, college basketball, and even SportsCenter.

“Ultimately, it was an opportunity to grow in my career at ESPN and I had to make a tough decision,” she told the Tribune. “I love everyday baseball, but it’s every day and I’ve been doing it for nine years and I felt ready to have a little bit more time in my personal life.”

McGregor, 33, has reached the point where having a more regular schedule became a priority. Going nonstop between the long MLB season and then covering football throughout the fall and winter left little time for her do much outside of work. She will not travel to Boston due to her football duties, so Thursday’s home finale is her last game for Marquee.
