Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr, Tom Segura Headline First-Ever Fastball Comedy Festival at Sloan Park October 17-18
When I first saw this announcement, I figured the lineup would feature just local comedians from Phoenix and maybe Chicago. And though that may be the case for the “surprise guests” that have not been named, the headliners are A-listers. Check out the media release below for more details and to get presale access.
The first-ever Fastball Comedy Festival will bring some of the biggest names in stand-up comedy to Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona, Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18, turning one of baseball’s premier Spring Training venues into a comedy destination. Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr and Tom Segura will headline, with additional performers to be announced. Two-day passes will go on sale at 10 a.m. MST/12 p.m. CT Friday, August 28, at www.sloanpark.com.
“The Fastball Comedy Festival combines world‑class comedy with the unique atmosphere of a professional ballpark, creating a one‑of‑a‑kind live entertainment experience,” said Justin Piper, General Manager of Spring Training Operations for Sloan Park. “This is another example of how we’re using the ballpark as a hub for exciting new events beyond baseball, and we encourage fans to take advantage of the presale so they don’t miss out.”
Produced in collaboration with Bruce Hills Entertainment and Wrigley Field Events, the festival will feature a main stage in center field with a distinct lineup each night. Burr and Segura will each take the stage October 17, followed by Chappelle and other talent October 18. Throughout the weekend, fans can shop for merchandise and enjoy food and drinks with rotating acts performing at a second stage behind right field.
Fans can sign up for presale access starting today, August 24, at www.sloanpark.com for the chance to purchase two-day passes before they go on sale August 28. Cubs and Spring Training Season Ticket Holders will have early access to purchase tickets through an exclusive presale opportunity beginning Thursday, August 27, at 11 a.m. MST/1 p.m. CT.
Premium options include the First and Third Base Party Decks and the Press Box Club. Each premium ticket includes complimentary ballpark food and nonalcoholic beverages, while Press Box Club tickets also include alcoholic beverages.
The Fastball Comedy Festival is the latest example of how Wrigley Field Events has leveraged historic Wrigley Field and Sloan Park as year-round entertainment venues. Following sold-out concerts and the debut of stand-up comedy at the Friendly Confines earlier this year, the Fastball Comedy Festival joins a growing slate of non-baseball events designed to create memorable experiences for fans and new opportunities for event and venue partners everywhere.
This is a phone-free event. Fans must be 18 years or older to attend. To register for the presale or for more information on the Fastball Comedy Festival, please visit www.sloanpark.com.
