John Baker Day 2026
Thursday, July 30th at 7PM Central, join former Cubs player, mental skills coordinator, and baseball folk hero, John Baker on the 12th anniversary of the longest game in Wrigley Field history, “The Night the Backup Catcher Got the Win.” We’ll reminisce about his Major League career, past John Baker Days, and hear about his new mental skills training program Intentional Performance, while we raise funds to launch the World Premier of Danny Rockett’s baseball backdropped musical “The Game.”, slated to be produced in Summer of 2027 by Chicago’s Trap Door Theatre.
We first celebrated John Baker Day 10 years ago, and over the last decade, John and the Son Ranto Ranters have supported charities from women’s shelters to youth baseball organizations like Lost Boyz. This year you can help us launch a new musical!
