Cubs Release Former White Sox Closer Liam Hendriks

There won’t be a South Side reliever reunion at Wrigley, as the Cubs have released former closer Liam Hendriks. They lost Aaron Bummer to free agency after he opted out of his minor league deal. Both pitchers were just lottery tickets that didn’t pay out, so it’s not a big loss for the organization. Even so, it could have made for a fun story.
