Chicago Cubs Lineup (7/5/26): Life, Liberatore, and Pursuit of Series Salvage.

We’ll return to our regularly scheduled programming on Monday, so you’re getting another bare-bones post this afternoon. Not that the Cubs have done anything worthy of attention this Independence Day weekend anyway. They’ve played like hot trash against the Cardinals this season, but at least they still have a chance to salvage some dignity.

Javier Assad will be on the bump for the home team, with Matthew Liberatore starting for the Cards. First pitch is at 1:30pm CT on Peacock and The Score.
