Jameson Taillon Leaves Sunday Start Early with Injury

There have been several starts this season when fans would have preferred to see Jameson Taillon lifted early, but Sunday night saw him exit in the 2nd inning after just 35 pitches. The righty battled through a one-run opening frame and then walked Matt Chapman on six pitches to open the next before walking off under the supervision of head trainer Nick Frangella.

Javier Assad, who was just recalled from Triple-A, came on in an emergency relief role. More on the specifics on Taillon’s issue once we have them.

Update: Taillon suffered a left hamstring strain, but there is not yet word on an expected timeline for his recovery.
