Cubs Recall Kevin Alcántara, DFA Nicky Lopez

The Cubs brought up another top minor leaguer on Saturday, promoting Kevin Alcántara to provide a boost to the offense. He’s got 15 homers and has been striking out less lately for Triple-A Iowa, unlike his new teammates. In order to make room on the roster, Nicky Lopez — who’s been a total non-factor since his curious addition — has been designated for assignment.
