
Chicago Cubs Score and Recap (3/23/26): Cubs 15, Yankees 6 – More Offensive Fireworks in Win
The Cubs played their penultimate spring training game against the Yankees at Sloan Park on a hot Monday afternoon. The starting lineup put on an impressive display of power hitting early and coasted to victory.
New York briefly went ahead against starter Shōta Imanaga in the top of the 1st inning on an RBI single by Jazz Chisholm Jr. Chicago responded in the bottom of the frame with a run-scoring single by Carson Kelly to tie things up.
The North Siders had a homer party in the bottom of the 3rd, going deep three separate times. Michael Busch got it started with a two-run shot, then Alex Bregman made it back-to-back with a solo blast, and Matt Shaw connected on a three-run dinger to give the home squad a 7-1 advantage.
The Cubs kept adding insurance in the 4th on an RBI double by Bregman and a two-run triple by Michael Conforto. Both teams would score five more runs, mostly after starters came out of the game, and Chicago won by a final of 15-6. (Box score)

The Cubs’ offense is absolutely ready to go for Opening Day on Thursday. At least on paper, it looks as formidable as any they have had in a long time. Now it’s time to see if it will translate into results when the games count because the season is here.
