Cubs Announce MYND DRINKS Partnership, Become First MLB Club with Official CBD Sponsor

It was only a matter of time and I’m surprised it took this long. Better than naming rights on the pitch clock, huh? See below for the Cubs’ press release on their newest corporate sponsorship deal.

The Chicago Cubs today announced a new partnership with MYND DRINKS, an award-winning wellness and recovery beverage brand, making the hemp-based product the “Official CBD Partner” of the Cubs and the first CBD partner of a Major League Baseball (MLB) club. As part of the historic partnership, MYND DRINKS will have various in-ballpark signage elements including on-field baseline signage at Wrigley Field as well as several in-game features and international marketing rights in the United Kingdom for the 2023 regular season, a first for the club.

MLB became the first major professional sports league to partner with a CBD company in 2022 after it opened the category for the league and its clubs earlier that year. In order to be considered, a CBD company must receive the NSF Certified for Sport® designation. After a thorough approval process, MYND DRINKS’ Elderberry Passionfruit, Orange Mango and Lemon Ginger flavors met the highest safety standards and received the NSF Certified for Sport® designation.

To kick off the partnership and help Cubs fans unwind, the Cubs will be releasing a guided meditation on YouTube narrated by Cubs radio play-by-play announcer Pat Hughes as well as a “Sounds of Wrigley Field” Spotify playlist today.
