Cubs Option Jason Adam to Alternate Site

According to the MLB transactions page, the Cubs have optioned righty reliever Jason Adam to the alternate site at South Bend. This move comes a day after Adam was charged with five earned runs when he allowed the first six Brewers hitters to reach in the 9th inning. On the season, Adam now has a 9.45 ERA and 6.10 FIP with six walks and 10 strikeouts in 6.2 innings.

No corresponding move has been announced yet, but we’ll update this post with more information. Expect either Pedro Strop or Justin Steele to get the call.
