Chicago Cubs Lineup (3/23/21): Arrieta Pitching Behind Lineup of Likely Regular-Season Starters
The Chicago Cubs take on the Chicago White Sox today as they enter the final week of Cactus League play in Mesa, Arizona. The Cubs will be fielding a lineup that is likely to end up being their regular-season starters on opening day next Thursday.
Ian Happ is in his familiar leadoff spot playing center, Willson Contreras bats second playing catcher, followed by Anthony Rizzo at first, Kris Bryant at third, and Joc Pederson batting fifth and playing LF. Javier Báez is hitting sixth at SS, followed by Jason Heyward in RF, and Nico Hoerner hitting eighth and playing 2B.
Jake Arrieta is on the mound for what should be his last real tuneup of the spring. He’ll probably get one more Cactus League start, but this figures to be his longest of the exhibition slate as he looks to build on what has been a surprisingly good opening salvo to his return engagement in Chicago.
First pitch is set for 3:05pm CT and will be carried by both Marquee Sports Network and 670 The Score.
