Chicago Cubs Lineup (3/7/21): Rizzo Leads Off, Amaya DH, Arrieta Takes Mound
Anthony Rizzo leads off as the Cubs face the Diamondbacks from Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, followed by Willson Contreras and Kris Bryant. Javy Báez is at short, Jason Heyward is in right, Nico Hoerner is at second, and Nick Martini is in left. Rafael Ortega is in center and Miguel Amaya bats ninth as the DH.
Jake Arrieta will take the mound in a Cubs uniform for the first time since Game 4 of the 2017 NLCS, the last postseason game the Cubs won. His performance in this game probably won’t be indicative of the rest of the season, but it may tell us a little bit about some small strategic changes that may be in the works.
Following Arrieta in some order will be Jason Adam, Adbert Alzolay, Andrew Chafin, Manny Rodriguez, Robert Stock, Jerry Vasto, and Brandon Workman.
First pitch is at 2:10pm CT on Fox Sports Arizona.
