Join #TeamRizzo, Donate Through Anthony Rizzo’s Home Run Challenge
If memory serves, this is the third season for Anthony Rizzo’s Home Run Challenge, a creative fundraising campaign put on by the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation. Once you sign up using the link above, you choose a donation amount to be tied to each home run Rizzo hits. The pledges are collected via PayPal after each home run, so it’s a really simple way to help raise money to “knock cancer out of the park.”
What I have liked about this thing from the start is that it enables almost anyone to make an impact, even if you don’t have much to donate all at once. But even if you’re giving $5 per dinger, that really adds up when Rizzo starts raking. This year’s goal is $100,000, which means all it would take is $2,857 Cubs fans giving $5 for each of 35 homers.
Of course, you can choose to give more, and with each pledge level comes additional benefits.
