Chicago Cubs Lineup: Almora in Center, Schwarber Back on Top, Lester on Hill
Do you remember what you were doing exactly one year ago today? Okay, I’ll give you a hint: Jake Arrieta has done this twice. That’s right, the bearded ace threw a no-hitter 365 days ago in Cincinnati. He was scheduled to go at it again today but Joe Maddon tinkered with the lineup and moved Jon Lester in to start instead. So if there’s going to be a repeat no-hitter it’ll have to be from Lester.
Albert Almora has been one of the hottest-hitting Cubs lately and he’s back in the lineup again today. He’s slashing .391/.440/.609 and he bashed his first home run of the 2017 regular season in the Wednesday’s win against the Brewers.
Kyle Schwarber had his first day off of the year Wednesday, with Matt Szczur filling in at the top of the lineup. Schwarber is back today in his customary leadoff position, where he’ll be haunting the Reds pitching staff later tonight.
