Chicago Cubs Lineup: Familiar Order Supports Arrieta
The Schwarbryzzobrist chimera is once again heading up the Cubs’ order, backed as usual by Addison Russell, Jason Heyward, and the catcher du jour (Willson Contreras this afternoon).
Jake Arrieta takes the bump to oppose Tyler Glasnow and the Pirates, a team that he has absolutely owned over the past couple seasons. Not to take anything away from the other teams that fell prey to the hairy hurler’s filthy breaking stuff, but the Pirates were a big part of Arrieta’s 2015 Cy Young win.
Javy Baez brings up the rear, looking to act as a catalyst for the top of the order as the turn the lineup over. Here’s to hoping we see better plate discipline from him than turning a 2-0 count into a strikeout late.
First pitch is 1:20 CT on CSN Chicago and 670 The Score.
