Cubs Quick Hits: Exit Velocity and Launch Angle of Willson Contreras’s Opening Night Homer
Willson Contreras took one of the game’s best relievers, Seung Hwan Oh, deep in the 9th inning to tie the Opening Night contest at 3-3. You probably smiled and thought, “Man, this team.” Or at least I did that.
Contreras launched his homer 106 MPH into the St. Louis night at a 27 degree angle. Only 5.4 seconds elapsed between the moment he made contact with the pitch and the dent it made in the Busch Field bleachers.
Willson Contreras ties the game with a 3 run HR in the 9th. Willson is a special kind of player. So much passion. pic.twitter.com/WLK3PzhEXQ
