Chicago Cubs Spring Training Lineup: A Lineup Close to Opening Day Projections, Schwarber Leads Off
The Chicago Cubs will take on the Chicago White Sox today starting at 1:05 PM MST at Sloan Park. That’s assuming the rain that’s forecasted for today holds off long enough. It doesn’t rain often here in Phoenix so when it does the locals — myself included — tend to enjoy the break from the sun.
For their part, the Cubs will be marching out a pretty nice lineup for this early in spring training. In fact, the 1-5 spots are likely to be what we’ll see on opening day. Willson Contreras and Jon Jay are towards the bottom of the lineup today as well, so that’s six and a half projected regular season starters for today. We also get a look at LHP Brett Anderson in his first appearance in a Cubs uniform.
Please, rain, hold off.
Reminder: Today’s game is not scheduled to be broadcast on TV but I’ll be there and will have video highlights after the game (during if I can get a good enough wireless signal).
