Chicago Cubs Lineup: Lester Pitching, Jorge DH; Cubs Closing in on Division Title
The Chicago Cubs (89-50) travel to Houston to take on the Astros (74-66) for three game series that starts today. Jon Lester (15-4, 2.61 ERA) will take the hill for the Cubs as he looks to add to his Cy Young Award resume. He’s been stellar this year – much better than last year, his first year with the Cubs – when he posted a 11-12 record and a 3.34 ERA. A lot of that has to do with the exceptional defensive play behind him. His BABIP in 2015 was .303, while it’s .252 in 2016.
It sure is fun when the Cubs travel to play teams in the American League and they get the DH. I absolutely love this lineup tonight. Jorge Soler is in at DH, Kris Bryant is in left field and Javier Baez is in at third base. That’s serious lumber, folks.
