Chicago Cubs Lineup: Jake Focused and Seeking Redemption
Well, that wasn’t so bad, was it? I’m talking about the two weeks prior to this six-game winning streak. Someone needs to tell Bryce Harper that he’s wrong, baseball is fun. If there’s any doubt, just follow the 2016 Cubs (35-14) and watch what they do this year. Ok. maybe that’s only fun for Cubs fans, but it’s still super, duper fun (a quote from my four year-old there).
The Cubs will try to keep the good times rollin’ as they meet up with the Dodgers (27-25) again tonight. Jake Arrieta (9-0, 1.72 ERA) will take the hill for the Cubs and if you’re the Dodgers, the idea of facing Jake is no fun at all. But……it’s always a good time for Cubs fans.
Jake will be trying to bounce back from his worst outing of the season, when he surrendered four runs off seven hits in five innings against the Cardinals. Of course, he still won the game because the Cubs offense scored nine runs before Adam Warren came on in relief of Jake in the bottom of the sixth inning. I’m looking for Jake to come out focused and fired up tonight, seeking to put that game behind him.
