Jake Arrieta Named NL Pitcher of the Month

Jake Arrieta was named the NL pitcher of the month today. He finished the month with a 5-0 record while posting a 1.00 ERA and a 2.85 FIP.

Many wondered if Jake could even come close to continuing his dominating streak that started last season and ultimately led to him winning the 2015 NL Cy Young Award. Based on his performance in the first month of the season, including his no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds, it seems like he’s pitching even better than last year.

Jake will pitch this week in an important series against the Pirates in Pittsburgh. He takes the hill in Tuesday’s game at 6:05 CDT.
