Kris Blasted, Schwarber Approved: Cubs Go Deep Over and Over and Over and Over

I don’t know how many of you remember Kix cereal and their tagline (Kid tested, mother approved), but I used to love them. As such, I’ve been sitting on this headline for a while and just waiting for Kris Bryant and Kyle Schwarber to homer in the same game so I’d get a chance to use it.

But the rookies weren’t the only players to go deep in the game, as Dexter Fowler and Miguel Montero joined the party early too. It’s not often you see 4 home runs in the first 3 innings of a game, but the really amazing part is that none of them were pulled. In keeping with the breakfast-in-a-box theme, I guess that would make them Oppo Jacks.

Given my title, it’s fitting that the Fowler and Montero shots weren’t yet embeddable as of press time. For now then, these replays of WAR Bear and the Unicorn will have to suffice.

UPDATE

Kris Bryant cares little for the timing of my posts, as he proved with a rainmaker to dead center in the 6th that put the Cubs up 9-2 and capped the scoring.
